Do you wish to steep in age-old traditions for a great family getaway? When people think about age-old traditions, first thing in their minds will likely associate the place with ancient temples and palaces. But to your surprised, Korea has as many ancient temples and palaces as modern-day skyscrapers, that is to say that you can have the best of both worlds for a great family vacation.
My top picks will first travel to the Jeju Island, fondly called by locals and tourists alike as ‘Island of the Gods’, which is a very popular destination for family getaway and as honeymoon destination too. - Not all locals speak English, hence it is good to get prepared if you are on a self-planned trip.
- Although most shops in the city zone accept credit cards, this does not happen in the countryside.
- By all means, avoid travelling during the monsoon months which runs from late June to late August. This is the time where the climate is very hot and humid with high chances of typhoons. To what I know, this is also the time when the city people head to the holiday resorts, thus doubling the prices of almost everything!
